Your pet's condition is complex — and Western medicine alone isn't enough.

Chronic pain, neurological decline, organ disease — some conditions respond poorly to conventional medicine alone. You're looking for something that treats the root cause, not just the symptoms.

Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine offers a 3,000-year-old system refined for modern animal care. At RehabVet, TCVM is woven into every treatment plan — not as an alternative to modern rehabilitation, but as a powerful complement to it.

What is TCVM?

A complete system of healing — not just acupuncture

Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine is a complete medical system that views the body as an interconnected whole. Rather than treating isolated symptoms, TCVM identifies imbalances in Qi (vital energy), Blood, Yin, and Yang — and restores harmony through a combination of modalities.

At RehabVet, TCVM is practised by our lead veterinarian Dr. Sara Lam and used alongside our rehabilitation services for pets with chronic conditions, complex health issues, or those who haven't responded fully to conventional treatment.

The four pillars of TCVM

1
Acupuncture
Fine sterile needles stimulate specific points to release endorphins, improve blood flow, reduce inflammation, and support the nervous system.
2
Herbal Medicine
Customised herbal formulas prescribed based on your pet's individual constitution and diagnosis — addressing root causes rather than symptoms alone.
3
Food Therapy
Dietary guidance based on TCVM principles. The right foods can support your pet's constitution and accelerate healing.
4
Tui-na
Therapeutic massage techniques that stimulate acupressure points, improve circulation, and support musculoskeletal health.

Why RehabVet?

Not all rehabilitation is equal

1
Singapore's first dedicated rehabilitation clinic
We are not a general vet that offers TCVM as a side service. Every therapist, piece of equipment, and room in our clinic exists for one purpose: rehabilitation and recovery.
2
TCVM integrated with modern rehabilitation
We combine TCVM with Class 4 laser therapy, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, and manual therapy. Your pet gets a tailored integrative plan — East meets West, for the best possible outcome.
3
Led by Dr. Sara Lam — TCVM & rehabilitation specialist
Dr. Sara holds advanced training in both veterinary rehabilitation and TCVM. She was named 2025 Bright Minds Wellness Champion for her work in integrative animal care.

Truly grateful to Dr. Sara, the entire team, and especially Xan. Milo was diagnosed with IVDD Grade 3. The whole team has shown such genuine care throughout his recovery journey.
